  • Established in 1966 as The Pembroke Boys Club, its programs were run out of Rotary Park.  Expanded in 1978 to include girls and was thus renamed The Pembroke Boys and Girls Club.
  • We are an affiliate member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and adhere to their mission statement and core values.  We boast 200 members between the ages of 6 and 18.  With the exception of one full-time and two part-time employees, our work force is comprised entirely of dedicated trained volunteers under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors.
  • Leadership training is provided and programs are run by 1 Program Leader and a multiple of volunteer leaders (approx. 10 kids per leader).
  • Before and After School Program offering healthy snacks, physical activities and homework help.  Service on PA Days offered.  Multi-child rates and financial assistance available.
    1. Rockwood School - 7:15 - 9:10 AM and 3:30 - 6 PM
    2. Knights of Columbus Hall  – 6:30 - 9:10 AM and 3:30 - 6 PM
  • Currently we offer two summer day camps:
  1. Stafford Park (Off-Site) – 8 weeks
  2. Kiwanis Clubhouse Camp – 8 weeks
  3. During the March Break we also hold a camp
  • During the year we offer recreational programs at Equinoxe School:
  1.
    1. Tuesday nights – 6:30pm to 8:15pm for 6 - 12 year olds
    2. Wednesday Teen Sports & Drama Night  6:30pm to 8:15pm for 13 - 18 year olds

  • Our Clubhouse After School Program at 1144 Lea St.  runs Monday to Friday from 4 pm until 5:30 pm.  We always serve a nutritious snack, homework help, bake, play sports, learn on the computer and just have fun
  • On Tuesdays during our After school we serve a hot meal, play an active game outside and board on the free bus to our recreational program at Equinoxe.
  • Our programs include: recreation, sports and fitness, leadership development and co-operation, crafts, games, puzzles, movies, drama, school support, social development, self-esteem building, literacy and nutrition.  Every month we have a Special Event for our members such as dances, swimming, tubing and trips.
  • Our Club also brings in Special Guests to share their expertise.  Recently, guests have included Pembroke Fire Department, OSPCA, Martial arts teachers, dog sled guide, dance and drumming teachers.
  • We are partners with Jubilee Place (Ontario Early Years), County of Renfrew,  Algonquin College (student placements), Kid Active,  Heart and Stroke Foundation, Town of Petawawa, Equinoxe School, Giant Tiger and Laurentian Valley.
  • Membership is $30.00 per year for all the Boys and Girls Club programs, however, the cost of fees will never limit the opportunity to be a member.

Our Club responds to local community needs and looks to Businesses, Educators, Social Services, Service Clubs, Professionals and Community Representatives to work in partnership to meet these needs.  The Pembroke Boys and Girls Club receives financial support from United Way, The Kiwanis Club of Pembroke, Laurentian Valley Bingo Association and other funding sources.
