FUNDING:

KEYSTONE CLUB GRANT

We have received a $5,000 Keystone Club grant!!  Keystone Club is Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada’s national leadership development program for youth 14 to 18 year olds. Keystone Clubs provide youth with the knowledge and skills to make positive choices in their lives as well as a place to use their creative skills to make a difference in their Clubs and communities. Throughout the course of the year, Keystone Clubs will complete at least one activity in each of the 5 core areas: Leadership, Teamwork, Healthy Choices, Service to Club and Community and Learning for Life.  We would like to thank the Keystone Club and Capital One, a chief sponsor.

FUNDRAISERS:

PAST EVENTS:

  • Thanks to the March Break Day Camp staff! Twenty kids enjoyed a Trip Around the World during the March Break Day Camp. The camp was made extra-ordinaire by guests who shared their talents and experiences. Ray and Julia (Pure Life Experiences) demonstrated dog sledding and snowshoeing. Ron (Link to the Outdoors) taught us about furs that are trapped. Nita (Thai Gardens) shared authentic Thai cuisine eaten with chopsticks. Everybody learned to write their name in Chinese from Sue (Taiwan). Shanessa demonstrated origami. Jana and honorary guest, Cole demonstrated martial arts. Rhodina and Anita shared step dancing and belly dancing techniques. Lulu gave history on South African culture. The week ended with everyone sharing in a drumming circle, lead by Jean and Trista. Leaders Shallan and Brady did an outstanding job ensuring the kids had an event filled week.

  • On May 28th 2010, the Pembroke Police Association sponsored a golf tournament for Emergency Services and Judicial personnel and friends at the Island Brae Golf Club, to benefit the club.  $4,600 was raised!!!  Thank you to everyone who volunteered and participated!!

  • From June 3rd to July 4th, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and The Home Depot Canada Foundation partnered to raise funds to help create safe, sustainable and vibrant communities for children, youth and families. For a $2 donation, customers purchased a ‘Paper Hammer’ at participating Home Depot stores or  made online donations to the Foundation at homedepot.ca/foundation.
